The Present and Future of the Church in the West

The Church in the West

If you look at the Barna data, 60%+ of the churches you currently see dotting the landscape will be gone in the next ten to fifteen years. The way we’ve predominantly “done Church” in the U.S. is ending. But there are other ways to be an authentic church. This can be a scary reality. But the upside is that while there may be fewer church buildings, we could have more disciples of Jesus forming healthier, more robust churches.

The churches that are going to make it will 1. Reclaim the Gospel of the Kingdom – see “What is the Gospel” (hotlink). and 2. Become hubs for disciple-making networks, resourcing and supporting these movements in their fields of influence.
